We had the pleasure of being able to purchase DHAY, a chestnut colt bred by Jane Kadri at Al Waha Stud and born in 2008.

Dhay (89.7949% Crabbet, 100% old English) is a pretty, elegant, refined and correct young stallion with an excellent temperament. He is by the stallion SPEARMINT who is a 100% old English and 79.7% Crabbet breeding. He has a pretty head, good limbs and joints, good feet, and is a very balanced free mover. He is very correct overall with huge eyes and he has the ‘Arabian type’ written all over him.

SPEARMINT represents one of the last of his line of all Courthouse breeding, bred by Mrs Jean Oppe 1982. His dam SAPPHO was purchased by Mr and Mrs Pat Maxwell from Courthouse Stud and later sold to Mrs Oppe. The Maxwell’s had previously bred from SAPPHO the International Champion Mare SIWA, a full sister to SPEARMINT being by SHAMMARSHAMMAR himself was unbeaten in the show ring in his time.

SPEARMINT was unshown until a 3 year old and was named Junior British National Champion in that year. He was also Reserve Supreme Overall behind RAVLON ELIJAH. In 1987, SPEARMINT won the 5 year old stallion Class at the National Show and was Best Junior Stallion; he was also overall Champion at Royal Windsor. In 1988, he was 2nd in Paris and 2nd at the European championships.

DHAY’s dam DALEELA is by the very successful stallion IMAD, also bred by Jane Kadri at Al Waha, and a multi- champion inhand and under-saddle. IMAD won British National Supreme Overall Ridden Championship at Malvern, in July 2000 and then went on to become ‘Ridden Arabian Champion’ at The Horse of the Year Show in the same year. He has produced top quality riding stock including STORM GOLD (International Ridden Champion, Twice reserve gelding at HOYS ), SILENT STORM top class ridden stallion twice qualified for HOYS, IMADIA top class mare qualified for HOYS, and many more performance and endurance horses. IMAD is by GOLDEN CAVALIER the sire of MAJESTIC CAVALIER ‘Ridden Arabian Champion’ at The Horse of the Year Show 2008.

DALEELA‘s dam DANCING QUEEN, a winner of the Princess Muna Saddle of Honour, is the dam of many successful breeding mares. Including QUEENS TOPAZ, the dam of three British National Champions, BNC colt TAYSEER, BNC Ridden gelding TAWOOS, and BNC ridden stallion TOMAN (Champion Ridden Arab HOYS 2006). She is also the dam of TEEBA, multi champion inhand and the dam of the very successful stallion H TOBAGO (International in-hand multi-champion). DANCING QUEEN is also the dam of the successful stallion DAAS(by IMAD).
